The Vornado 530B cannot just be called a fan. It’s termed as an air circulator and this is because that’s exactly what it does. Designed for small rooms such as home office, bedroom, cubicles or barracks, this unit will give relief in summer and additional comfort in winter. With a powerful motor, it will propel the air up to 65 feet.

At first sight, it’s easy to see the 530B is a compact yet powerful unit. With an 18 inch span and sleek design in black, this model will easily fit into a small space without compromising on style. The 530B uses a unique vortex action that aerodynamically circulates air in the whole room, and will give a powerful blast of up to 65 feet.
Further proof of this little units power is the study that was carried out by a Kansas based company. They found that consumer thermostats could raise by 5 degrees in the height of summer, but you still feel the benefit from this air circulator.
With additional features such as 3 fan speeds and an adjustable head, the 530B will make any small room feel comfortable.
What We Liked
- Year Round Use
In summer the 530B will efficiently keep the air cool. In winter (due to the vortex technology), this model will ensure the warm air that’s risen to the top will be circulated evenly. - Energy Efficient
Based on a Kansas study it was found that consumers save up to $50 on energy for every 5 degrees temperature rise (compared to conventional fans). Additionally, in winter it reduces the need to turn up the heat because it circulates warm air from above. - Easy Maintenance
All appliances designed to deal with air become dusty. With the 530B, maintenance is a ‘breeze’. No tools are required, just pop the frame out and wipe the blades down. - Durability
While compact in size, this model does not let Vornado’s reputation down for producing products that are sturdy and built to last.
What We Didn't Like
- Noise
The 530B is not advertised as ‘whisper quiet’. Some consumers have complained it is noisy on the higher settings, however, due to the amount of air it circulates, any manufacturer would have a problem in this area. - Design Quality
Whilst this Vornado model looks very good, it has been noted the plastic components are not as sturdy as they could be.
Conclusion
Vornado has an unsurpassed reputation for building quality air control products. The 530B has been designed with aesthetics in mind, and does the job of both cooling/warming and circulating the air very well. It is pricier than other models on the market and if this is an issue, you may want to consider the Ozeri Brezza II Dual fan, which is cheaper but not as aesthetically pleasing or as powerful as the 530B.
