The Sharp AFS80RX window air conditioner is one of the most energy efficient units on the market, and it’s also one of the most stylish ones. Sharp has obviously listened to customer comments regarding the way an air conditioner of this type should look like. Its sleek, modern and designed to fit in with any décor. With a capacity of 8000 BTU, this unit will easily cool a room up to 415 square feet.
The AFS80RX will eliminate the guesswork when it comes to making sure the temperature in your home is comfortable. It’s fitted with a 24 hour on/off timer for convenience and the temperature can be set at 1 degree increments. For further ease of use, this model has Sharp’s own comfort touch controls on the unit and you also benefit from a full functional remote control.
The auto-cool function is another important feature of the AFS80RX. This means the unit will automatically adjust the fan speed up when demand is high and adjust it down when the demand is low. When the desired temperature has been reached, both the compressor and fan power-off.

What We Didn't Like
- Unhelpful Manual
Whilst the written instructions are pretty clear with this model, it has to be said that Sharp could have done a better job, especially for people who like to be guided by pictures.
- Window Dimensions
Anyone considering purchasing this unit should be aware it will not fit a window beyond 22 inches in width.
The Sharp AFS80RX ranks well on many online retail sites. The design is aesthetically pleasing (which isn’t easy for a window air conditioner) and its features are made for ease of use. Temperature accuracy comes in handy as well, as a one degree difference can easily affect overall indoor air comfort. Overall this is a reasonably priced unit that works well.Review by AirReflect ©
