Santa Fe Classic

The Santa Fe Classic whole basement dehumidifier is discreet in design yet incredibly powerful. It’s one of the only that will remove enough moisture from large basements (2000 - 3000 square feet!) to effectively prevent mold and mildew. This model has been specifically designed for residential use, and because of its capacity, Santa Fe have eliminated the need for consumers to buy more than one unit. You can even use it as a whole house dehumidifier.

Review Details

One of the major benefits to the Santa Fe Classic is it can remove up to 100 pints of water every 24 hours. This makes it one of the only models on the market available for residential use at this level. Compared to other dehumidifiers in this price range, the Santa Fe Classic is about 2 or 3 times more powerful.

It can be placed out of sight in a basement, ducted to provide air circulation, and will provide constant humidity control. Consumers can also expect to benefit from a digital humidity gauge and de-frost system that works at 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Due to the incredible efficiency of this dehumidifier, it’s now possible to turn what was once a large musty, damp area into a usable space in the home.

What We Liked

  • Perfect for Large Spaces
For those that have a large basement they cannot currently use, the Santa Fe Classic will change everything. It has the capacity to remove 100 pints of water in a 24 hour period, and doesn’t need to be emptied because it’s fitted with a drain hose for continuous use.
  • Improved Air Quality
Using the advanced MERV 11 air filtration, this model will control the level of humidity, and improve indoor air quality.
  • Energy Efficient
The Santa Fe Classic has been Energy Star Rated which means it won’t break the bank to run in terms of energy bills.
  • Advanced Dehumidification
Due to its power, this model will eliminate all mold and mildew in a basement. It has been specially designed to work in either damp or very wet conditions. It comes with digital humidity control and an automatic de-frost sensor.

What We Didn't Like

  • Weight
The Santa Fe Classis does weight over 100lbs which can make it difficult to move. However, since most consumers need it for constant humidity control in basements, once installed, there is little need to move it.
  • Low Temperature Operation
Like pretty much all models of this type on the market, it may not be so efficient at temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Given it will remove up to 100 pints of water per day, the Santa Fe Classic basement dehumidifier is incredibly well priced. Such capacity is something no other manufacturer can boast for the cost. It’s perfect for large basements and will make what was once an uninhabitable area in the home a space that has a comfortable level of humidity.
