The Holmes HAP706-U air purifier is recommended for use in rooms that are approximately 81 square feet in size. It has a unique design that isn’t unattractive but doesn’t detract away from what the unit is designed to do and that’s keep the air in your home clean. The tower design is incredibly useful for smaller rooms in the home because it saves on space and can easily be placed somewhere that isn’t obvious.
This air purifier from Holmes uses a true HEPA filtration system. This means it’s certified to remove 99.97% of airborne particles that are responsible for causing allergy symptoms or exacerbating breathing issues such as asthma. Due to the advanced technology used, the HAP706-U will deal with pet dander, pollen (of all types), dust, mold spores, dust mite debris and smoke.
The carbon filter fitted into this air purifier is treated with baking soda and will remove unpleasant household smells such as those from cooking, pet litter boxes, garbage and bathrooms. This part of the filtration system will deal with particles that are larger than 0.3 microns in size. Anything smaller is dealt with by the true HEPA filter.

What We Didn't Like
- Adequate Airflow
Some consumers may find the airflow on this model is not enough for their needs. However, it is prudent to remember the HAP706-U has been designed to work in rooms no larger than 81 square feet.
- Ozone Issues
You must be aware there can be issues with using the ionizer with regards to ozone, but Holmes as made this feature optional on the HAP706-U.
For people who suffer with mild allergies or breathing difficulties and spend time in small rooms, the HAP706-U is excellent at keeping symptoms at bay. What should be mentioned is that it’s only recommended for spaces no larger than 81 square feet. However, the quiet operation makes this model perfect for overnight use and can easily be placed on a night-stand. For the price, this air purifier works very well for mild issues with air quality.Review by AirReflect ©
