Fellowes AP-300PH

Because the quality of the air indoors is up to 5 times worse than the air outdoors (a fact many people are not aware of), Fellowes decided to address the issue with the AP-300PH air purifier. With a 4 stage purification process, they have placed emphasis on making sure that the air you breathe is free of pollutants. In addition, design hasn’t been forgotten. This model is sleek and modern.

Review Details

The AP-300H offers both activated carbon filters and true HEPA filters. The whole process of air purification is done in 4 stages

  1. Air moves through a carbon filter where odors and large particles are removed.
  2. The carbon filter has an additional feature in that it’s equipped with patented sanitizing technology. This prevents the build-up of mold, mildew and bacteria.
  3. The air then passes through the true HEPA filter.
  4. PlasmaTRUE technology then kicks in by creating an ionized field which adds as further protection against harmful pollutants.

Other features with this model include ultra quiet operation and an air purity sensor that automatically adjusts the fan speeds accordingly.

What We Liked

  • Advanced Air Purification
Fitted with a true HEPA filter, Fellowes have intelligently included a 4 stage purification system with the AP-300PH.
  • Ultra Quiet Operation
With 4 speed settings to choose from the AP-300PH will purify the air with advanced technology that won’t disturb sleep.
  • Automated Air Quality Sensor
The AP-300H has an automatic sensor. This means if it’s working on its lowest speed and detects either odors or airborne particles in the air; it will automatically adjust the speed setting for you.
  • Sleek Design
Design has not been forgotten. This air purifier comes in an attractive silver color, and is very tidy in appearance with soft lines.
  • Ease of Use
The handy control panel is located to the front of the unit at the top and has easy to read displays with push button controls.

What We Didn't Like

  • PlasmaTRUE noise
There have been mixed reviews on the noise the PlasmaTRUE makes when the unit is in operation. Since Fellowes have not fitted a feature to turn this off, it can be annoying for some people.
  • Sensitive Auto-Sensor
Due to the advanced technology used with the Fellowes AP-300PH, users should be aware that if they spray any type of aerosol or other potential air pollutant near the unit, it will react.

The AP-300PH from Fellowes rates well above average in terms of customer reviews. It’s quiet and efficient. The technology behind the air purification system is far superior to many models of this size. It uses both true HEPA and patented PlasmaTRUE filters which help both with the reduction of allergy symptoms, work to eliminate odors and keep potentially harmful viruses out of the air. Given the price tag, this is an excellent investment.
