Dyson is known for manufacturing electrical products of the highest quality on the market. The AM03 pedestal fan is no different. Every single product that leaves their factory holds patented technology developed by Dyson engineers. The AM03 is, quite simply, a masterpiece of design, and to say it’s bladeless (which it is) would be an understatement. The thought that has gone into the look of this fan as well as the technology is something to behold.
When you first catch sight of the AM03 you could be forgiven for thinking it’s a piece of modern indoor decorative architecture. Standing at a height of just over 55 inches and finished in silver, this fan has no blades. Instead, what the consumer gets is a head that appears to be nothing more than an empty circle.
Dyson engineers realized that conventional ‘blade’ fans chop the air thereby creating a sense of breeze. With the AM03 what you get is patented air multiplier technology. The unit draws the air in and multiplies it up 18 times at the base. The result is a steady/uninterrupted stream of cool air. Perfect for large rooms, patios or offices, the AM03 delivers quality cool air in style.
What We Liked
- Understated Beautiful Design
The Dyson AM03 couldn’t look less like a fan if it tried. The engineers behind the design have incorporated aesthetics with technology that no other manufacturer in the world can boast.
- Fully Adjustable
The head on the AM03 has a touch tilt pivoting system and the unit can be adjusted from 46 to 55 inches in height for maximum airflow efficiency. It also has a full 360 degree oscillation system.
- Patented Airflow Technology
This model will draw up to 8.7 gallons of air per second, which is collected at the base and multiplied up to 18 times. This is then expelled into the room to give a constant and uninterrupted stream of cool air.
- Easy to Maintain
Simply wipe with a duster (no blades to deal with).
- Additional Features
The AM03 has a fully functional remote control, dimmer-switch control for precise airflow and is lightweight.
What We Didn't Like
- Remote Control
The sensor for the remote control is located at the base of the unit. This means you need to have sight of the base in order to use the controls remotely.
- Noise Levels
On its highest settings, the AM03 can emit quite a bit of noise. However, considering the amount of air it moves, even Dyson would have trouble producing a model that’s whisper quiet.
Dyson once again have excelled themselves not just in design, but in innovative technology as well. The AM03 may not be the cheapest fan on the market, but the consumer benefits from the very latest technological advancements in air cooling. This model is bladeless, delivers a high amount of cool air and will not look out of place with any modern décor. Indeed, many consumers opt for the AM03 over air conditioning, which does save money in the long-run.Review by AirReflect ©
