Danby DPAC12010H

With the Danby DPAC12010H portable air conditioner you actually get 4 units in 1. It will easily cool a room up to 500 square feet, but it can also be used as a large capacity dehumidifier, a 3 speed fan or a heater. This makes it perfect for all year round use. This unit has not been compromised when it comes to style either. It’s a very tidy looking model and won’t look out of place in a bedroom or living room.

Review Details

One of the most discerning features of the DPAC12010H is the fact it has a dual hose system. This is something many other manufacturers cannot boast in this price range. A dual hose system means stale air is effectively removed from the room and replaced with cleaner cool air, making for a much more efficient air conditioning experience.

There are many features with this model. You benefit from a remote control which is fully functional, allowing you to operate the unit from the comfort of your own chair. When used as a dehumidifier, the DPAC12010H has a capacity to remove up to 54 pints of moisture per day which can be drained by a hose. This eliminates the need to constantly empty a bucket.

What We Liked

  • Eco-Friendly
The DPAC12010H is kind to the environment because it uses components that will not deplete ozone.
  • Highly Versatile
Danby has really pulled out all the stops in terms of versatility with this model. Because it cools, dehumidifies and heats, this unit will give true all year round comfort.
  • Easy to Use Controls
Located at the top of the unit you will find electronic LCD controls. For further convenience you are also provided with a full function remote control.
  • Cool Air in a Snap
Due to the dual hose system with this air conditioner, the user can expect cold air within minutes of turning the machine on.
  • Quiet Operation
The Danby DPAC12010H does not omit too much in the way of noise, and on its lowest setting (perfect for night-time) it will not disturb sleep.

What We Didn't Like

  • Control Panel Location
When using the remote control from your chair, you cannot see the changes you made. This is because the LCD controls are on the top of the unit.
  • Size
Because Danby have developed a unit that will do many jobs in terms of keeping the air indoors comfortable, this model is pretty big. You should note the dimensions before purchasing.

Conclusion

Danby has an excellent reputation within the air conditioning market and the DPAC12010H has not let them down. It cools quickly and efficiently, and due to the large capacity for removing moisture it is perfect for areas that suffer from high humidity.
It’s not the cheapest model on the market, but if you intend to use all of the features included, it’s money well spent.
