The Alen T300 HEPA tower air purifier is easy on the eye and will fit into any discerning décor. It’s capable of cleaning the air in a room up to 560 square feet in size, and the technology included with this model means you can expect a fresher environment and an atmosphere that’s free of harmful bacteria and allergen producing particles.
This air purifier will remove dust, pollen, ragweed, dust mites, mold spores and pet dander using the HEPA filter. Additionally it also has an activated carbon pre-filter which removes larger particles and helps by absorbing irritating household odors, thus prolonging the life of the HEPA filter.
An independent ionizer is also installed in the T300. This produces negative ions that attach themselves to positively charged particles in the air before they reach the HEPA filter. In addition this unit also has a UV–C germicidal lamp that when shined on viruses or bacteria will kill them instantly.
Aside from its ability to keep the atmosphere clean and fresh, you can also expect other features such as a 12 hour timer and easy to use electronic push-button controls.
What We Liked
- Quiet Operation
This model has 4 speeds and on its highest setting will only omit up to 66 decibels. At its lowest level this drops to 33 decibels making it whisper quiet.
- Ease of Use
The easy to use push-button electronic controls will allow you to select one of the 4 speeds, set the 12 hour timer, check the filter life status and power on/off the ionizer and UV lamp.
- Advanced Air Filtration
The air will be free of allergens as well as mold spores using the HEPA type filter. It’s also possible to make use of the carbon pre-filter, ionizer and UV-C germicidal lamp which eliminate a variety of disease causing pathogens.
The T300 comes in a black tower design with the push-button controls located at the top. It’s sleek and modern making it perfect for any room in the home.
What We Didn't Like
- Expensive Replacement Parts
Both the filters and the UV bulbs can be expensive to replace, although normally this only needs to be done once or twice per year.
- Noise on High Level
At its highest setting, the T300 will emit about 60 decibels which is about the same level as a conversation. For some people this has proved too noisy.
The Alen T300 rates well above average among people who suffer from allergies and asthma. It has also been highly revered for its ability to clear the air of visible dust particles. There are not many other tower design air purifiers in this bracket that can boast the air purification features this does. It has to be noted replacement parts are expensive. If this is an issue you may want to consider the Whirlpool AP51030K, but this is not a tower model.Review by AirReflect ©
